Jay Ritchie, LPC
I became a counselor early in my life. Since I was young, I’ve felt called to help people work out their problems. Whether it be in providing an assist, raising one of my children, lifting up a stranger, or just listening, I have consistently worked to help people locate resolution and healing. I thank you for allowing me to do this work with you and for allowing me to help you bring healing into your living pattern. I want to help you, if I can, to become your very best self. As I have grown professionally, I have learned how to help you find your solution, your healing, and your happiness, if possible. My desire is to be a counselor for you and to help you learn how to be successful.

Meet
Virginia Gordon, MA, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
With more than 12 years of clinical experience, I support children, teens, young adults, and women of reproductive age as they navigate a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, unmanaged stress, disordered eating, suicidal ideation, and more.
Over the past five years, I have developed a specialized focus in fertility support, perinatal mental health, and postpartum care. I have completed specialized training through Postpartum Support International (PSI) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). I also contract with the Center for Reproductive Medicine (CRM) in Mobile, providing individualized therapeutic support to patients navigating the emotional complexities of infertility and assisted reproductive technology as they work toward building their families.
My personal experience with secondary infertility has deepened my empathy and understanding for individuals navigating the often-complex emotional journey of infertility and assisted reproductive technology (ART). I understand how meaningful it can be to work with a therapist who is already familiar with the terminology, processes, and emotional complexities associated with ART. That familiarity can create space for clients to focus more fully on their own experiences rather than feeling the need to explain the basics of what they are going through.
I believe a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful counseling. Feeling genuinely seen, heard, and understood creates a foundation for clients to explore difficult experiences, develop greater insight, and move toward healing and growth.
Counseling is more than a profession to me—it is a calling. I truly love what I do, and I feel honored to walk alongside my clients during some of the most challenging and transformative seasons of their lives.

Meet
Justin Bender, LPC
I have over 20 years of clinical experience working with all ages and demographics. My practical view of therapy is a personal examination of mind, body, and spirit as it relates to how each of us perceives the world in which we live. The world is constantly changing, introducing new obstacles into our daily lives. When we are in an unfamiliar, unpredictable place physically and emotionally it can be immensely scary and uncomfortable, thus creating anxiety, worry and depression. My therapeutic approach in managing emotional dis-ease is to engage/motivate, validate, and reframe the potential for positive change. I believe self-awareness and mindfulness techniques as well as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) interrupt irrational unmanageable thought patterns, promoting wellness and ease of mind.

Meet
Martha Mitchell, LMFT
As a marriage and family therapist, I take a systemic approach. I understand that our struggles often emerge within the context of our relationships, environments, and life experiences. In therapy, we’ll explore these influences with curiosity and care, creating space for insight and meaningful change. I know how vulnerable it can be to ask for help, and I’m honored to be part of that step!
My goal is to meet each client with compassion and acceptance, offering a safe space to work through what feels heavy or unresolved. Whether you’re facing a major life transition, processing a traumatic experience, or simply need a place to feel heard, I’m here to walk alongside you. Therapy is not about “fixing” you or your problems; it’s about realizing that the beliefs your pain has created about your worth don’t define who you truly are.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2021 and my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2023, both from The University of Alabama. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, including adults, teens, children, and families. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, life transitions (particularly the transition into college), eating disorders, child-centered therapy, and self-esteem.
